Limited Sleeper Cache
1) hack spawn container on warp in to activate rft.
2) hack defence can to turn off defences
3) Hack pressure container to turn off pressure cloud for 2-3 mins
4) hack container in pressure field while field is off
5) hack rest of cans

It seems there is still a lot of confusion about the Standard Sleeper Cache pertaining to its mechanics as well as how to run it most efficiently. I know there have been some issues with bugs in the past that complicated things. JohnnyPew’s video is pretty helpful but he also is inaccurate when it comes to some of the mechanics.
I’ve managed to run these sites extremely efficiently in an Astero, and have written a guide on how to do it. I don’t have a ton of screenshots, so I want to link JohnnyPew’s video
in case something is unclear as he does a good job explaining the layout
Before getting started, here is my fit:
[Astero – Sleeper Sites]
Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Sisters Core Probe Launcher
5MN Microwarpdrive II
Relic Analyzer II
Data Analyzer II
Cargo Scanner II
Small Armor Repairer II — strongly recommended
Damage Control II — recommended
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II – recommended
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Hobgoblin II
You will need some form of active tank to handle a few shots from the sentries. Having the DC and EANM makes your life a bit easier.
GUIDE
Like the other sleeper cache’s, you will have to successfully hack the hyperspatial rift with a data analyzer in order to gain entry to the Main (Logistics) Room. Failing the first hack starts a 2 minute countdown before the entire site self-destructs. You have unlimited re-attempts during this 2 minute window to gain entry.
==LOGISTICS ROOM==
Upon warp in — you have the 3 hackable containers (2x mangled, 1x dented storage), remote defense grid unit, coordinate plotting devices, and the low/high power calibration arrays. I noticed from several tries that it is usually the same mangled container that causes the defense ALARM unit to spawn (usually the furthest distance like 30km from warp in point – see this figure
With that info in mind (and wanting to avoid the gas cloud in a frig), I recommend the following:
1) Go ahead and hack the closer of the two mangled storage depot, then hack the dented storage depot. These are shown with green check marks in my figure above. Only one mangled depot should remain at this point (shown in red) — hold off on it for the time being!
2) Next, hack the 3x coordinate plotting devices so you have the X Y Z coordinates.
3) Then go ahead and hack the nearby remote defense grid unit. This will remove a sentry from the backline (“sleeper enclave”), and move one to the frontline near the tractor beam. This is desirable because we are going to ignore the tractor beam area for now.
4) At this point you have a choice: you can risk hacking the remaining mangled storage depot we left earlier and spawn the defense alarm unit upon completion of that hack. OR you can continue to the sleeper enclave in the backline and get more loot. See my notes at the bottom regarding this mechanic. Step 5 assumes you go to sleeper enclave next.
5) Assuming you want to defer the alarm hack, place your XYZ coordinates into the HIGH POWER calibration unit. Then approach the now calibrated rift nearby. Get ready to turn on your tanking modules/repper. Activate the rift which will warp you ~300km to the sleeper enclave in the backline. If you are in a frig, IMMEDIATELY start orbiting the nearby remote defense grid unit. DO NOT SIT STILL because two sleeper turrets will start firing on you. I noticed they had trouble hitting my astero if I maintained high transversal velocity as the turrets are between 15-30km from you, but they did periodicially land a hit for about 400 with my fit. Hack the defense grid unit ASAP, it will disable the closer of the two nearby sentries (the one 15km from you). My T2 repper was more than adequate to tank one sentry since they fire slowly, and will miss if you keep the transverse velocity high — just don’t stop moving!
5a) Optionally, you can kill the remaining sentry at 30km. I always have drones with me when exploring in case I get ganked by another cov-ops, and T2 hobgoblins were able to easily take out the sentry in a minute or so. I highly recommend this since it will allow you to loot the area much more comfortably as a frigate.
6) You will notice that the “hidden” loot depots will start appearing and you get a notification in local saying so. They aren’t truly hidden as JohnnyPew states in his video. They are merely “unidentified”. If you have large collidable objects on your overview you’ll see these (called something like Unidentified storage containers) scattered nearby. If you get within 10km of them they will be “identified” into intact, dented, or mangled depots that you can hack and loot.
7) Go ahead and identify then hack the depots you see in the sleeper enclave and enjoy your loot. See my notes below about the alarm unit and hidden pocket mechanic.
==NOTES==
As I mentioned, the mangled depot furthest from you on initial warp in usually triggers the defense alarm unit upon completion of the hack. How you deal with it has several implications and again, you have 60 seconds and it’s an extremely difficult hack (even with T2 hacking modules and a rig).
SUCCESSFUL HACK: Disables alarm unit. No toxic gas clouds will form, and you will be rewarded with a new pristine storage depot that will appear next to you. However, the special “hidden pocket” in johnnypew’s video will NOT spawn (unless you trigger the security alarm through alternative means, discussed at the bottom update).
FAILED HACK: Alarm unit activates extermination units. Toxic gas clouds form in 30 seconds (you have enough time to MWD the hell away, I recommend 100km+ radius from the site since the clouds expand). No pristine depot reward, however the rift in the middle to the “hidden pocket” (by the tractor beam) will spawn.
After several additional attempts, I noticed the self destruct in the hidden loot area after hacking the remote defense unit is THREE (3) MINUTES, not five like in the video. This may have been a recent change by CCP. Having 2 less minutes makes a huge difference because the depots are difficult hacks and will require about a minute unless you’re lucky. Also, the self destruct reset hack is not easy either and takes time. It will only grant you (3) more minutes too, not 5. Sometimes I haven’t had enough time to loot all, other times I’ve gotten lucky hacks and looted all cans. If you do the hidden pocket, a cargo scanner is highly recommended so you can focus your efforts on the high value containers first.
I completely ignore the tractor beam in my strategy. It’s too difficult in a frigate to approach that area because you’ll be aggroed by a sleeper sentry in the backline when you get within 50-60km of it (the sentry is like 150km away). At that distance, it will have no problem hitting a frigate and I wasn’t cap stable enough to keep my repper on indefinitely. It’s also redundant if you are going to warp directly to the sleeper enclave like I do in my strategy since that simply pulls the storage containers to you that you’d otherwise go and loot yourself. Likewise, hacking the remote defense unit near the tractor beam is redundant as well for my strategy.
Overall: my recommendation is to wait until the very end (after you loot sleeper enclave nodes) to deal with the alarm unit. From the sleeper enclave you either MWD back to the front line (take care of the now active frontline sentries!!) or warp out and back in quickly (so site doesn’t despawn). Then, you can choose whether to go for the single pristine can with a successful hack or intentionally failing the hack so the secret area rift spawns (along with the toxic clouds). Make sure you MWD the hell away once the clouds spawn, and then position yourself in a way that you can MWD to the spawned rift to the secret area before the sentries hit you too much. I was able to MWD in and activate the rift before getting hit once, but it may have been lucky — so take care on it. I believe my method maximizes the amount of loot you can potentially receive, while also maximizing the “doability” of the site in an Astero. I have not yet tried it in a cov-ops frig, so if someone manages to do so using my method feel free to add your experience.
==UPDATE ON TOXIC GAS CLOUD (10/11/15)==
Regarding the security mechanics / toxic gas cloud: there are several ways that it can be triggered and the above guide only describes the most common (failing the defense alarm unit hack). The toxic gas cloud forms when the sleeper security alarm level reaches 5 and failing the alarm unit hack (intentionally or not) automatically sets the level to 5 triggering the gas cloud.
Failing a remote defense grid unit hack will increase the security alarm level by “1” for each failure, as noted in the comments section. You will also see a message in local when this happens. Theoretically, if you wanted to go for the pristine can AND the hidden loot room, you could risk MWD’ing to the frontline remote defense grid unit and intentionally failing that hack 5 times. I don’t recommend this method in a frig because it requires you to MWD away from the incoming gas cloud and the sleeper sentries will nail you with the +signature radius.
Attacking the sleeper enclave will automatically set the security alarm level to “5” triggering the sleeper exterminators and gas cloud (and thus the hidden loot pocket) Credit to AcherIngres for pointing this fact out. You will need to activate a hostile module to do this (drones will not engage it) — I activated a web and it was sufficient.
Therefore, if you want to be a badass and get BOTH the pristine can (from a successful alarm unit hack) AND gain access to the hidden loot area, I recommend the following: follow my guide as above, then complete the defense alarm unit hack to spawn your pristine can. Then, take the calibrated rift back to the sleeper enclave area and activate a hostile module. IMMEDIATELY microwarp drive at least 100-120km away from the area. The hidden rift will spawn, and you can proceed to the hidden loot area as described previously. Take care not to have your MWD on when you get within 40km of the spawned hidden rift because the sleeper sentries in the frontline will land several volleys from your increased sig radius. Slowboating is the safe way of doing it when you get to that range. Enjoy the extra loot!
Hope this helps and happy hunting/looting!
